Anxiety can be exhausting and usually by the time clients start therapy with me they are pretty tense, stressed out and overwhelmed by it. If that sounds like you, once you've told me about yourself and how anxiety is impacting you, we'd probably start by practising anxiety reduction techniques and once you feel you are able to manage it, we can start to look at underlying causes if you wish to. Exactly what we do will depend on your needs and the outcomes that you want from our work together. Some people want a small number of sessions to deal with a simple phobia, upcoming event or to learn how to stop panic attacks, while others need more time, for example to learn how to cope with OCD or manage PTSD.
